waiorua beehives

date : 30.03.2012
time : 12.30pm
location : beehives, Waiorua valley, Kapiti Island

notes : a keen photographer in the Kapiti Whanau has been dedicatedly out shooting bees all morning with his macro lens, and, while being evidently somewhat disappointed in the results, is interested in my enthusiasm around a binaural aural equivalent. he is explaining that in the middle of the day it is too hot for the hives, and the bees come out to cool down in the air, lazily swarming on the structures and buzzing in the syrupy air. heading to the hives the next day i also have in mind his advice that if you don't show fear the bees will not attack, and sit among the swarms with my eyes closed.
